Chicken noodle soup is a world famous cure for the cold, flu, or when recovering from any illness. Scientists have done some research to discover why chicken soup can make you feel better, but they haven't yet come up with any conclusions.
Certain ingredients are required in making a recuperative chicken noodle soup. You need chicken, broth, noodles, garlic and parsley. Make the broth by simmering the chicken, bones, fat and all, in water for two to three hours, depending on the amount you are making. Skim any material that floats to the surface during the first hour.
When the broth has achieved a nice deep color, remove the chicken, put it on a plate and let it cool. In the meantime, add your noodles, garlic, and parsley to the broth. Then remove the fat from the chicken and tear or chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces and put it back into the broth. The noodles generally take only ten or fifteen minutes to cook. Follow this chicken soup recipe and you’ll have a therapeutic meal that can help you recover when you get sick.
Chicken soup can also be made with almost any vegetable. If your refrigerator is packed with containers of left-over vegetables, you can put them in a hearty chicken soup. You will avoid wasting vegetables and your family will love the soup. This also means that you'll save money and you'll have more room in your fridge.
